Athens Construction was established in 1986 by
Dimitrios Kourkouvis and Epaminondas Kourkouvis and since then
has been in operation as a General Contractor serving the
Chicagoland area. In 1989 Dimitrios Giannetos joined the firm.
In the same year Athens Construction was organized as
a corporation under the laws of the State of Illinois. Its
principal place of business is maintained since then at
613 West 16th Street in Chicago.

Athens Construction currently holds a Class "A" Contractor's License
in the City of Chicago and is also registered as a General Contractor
in various municipalities in the Chicagoland area.

The owners of the firm have been actively engaged in building
up the business devoting 100% of their time and currently
holding the following positions:

DIMITRIOS KOURKOUVIS
President / CEO 

Oversees the day-to-day operation of the firm, directs sales, estimating,
and handles contract negotiations and contract administration.

A graduate of the University of Athens Greece School of Law,
Dimitrios Kourkouvis came to the United States in 1981 for
postgraduate studies. In 1985 after attending a two (2) year
program at IIT – Kent College of Law, he obtained his
Master of Laws in American Legal Studies.

Construction experience prior to forming Athens Construction was
gained at North Suburban Construction Company where he was
exposed to the remodeling field and in all the phases of residential
remodeling business.

EPAMINONDAS KOURKOUVIS
Vice President / Senior Project Manager 

"Nondas" duties include overseeing field operations, setting weekly
scheduling, negotiating purchases of materials, supplies and
selecting subcontractors.

Nondas attended Devry Institute of Technology where he obtained
his associate degree in electronics in 1981. He also obtained
his degree in Liberal Arts in 1985.

DIMITRIOS GIANNETOS
Corporate Secretary / Senior Project Manager

 Working in a team with Epaminondas Kourkouvis, "Jim" oversees
field operations, sets up schedules and handles project closeout
and post construction service.

He attended the University of Illinois where he studied toward
his degree in Liberal Arts. His construction skills are in carpentry,
millwork and cabinet making, finishes, interior layouts and
information technology.
